New Green On The Trees

Fishing surrounded by fresh greenery.
The most exciting season of the year.

The Season of the spring run.
Standing in the river today looking for them.
Are the fish coming back early? Are they slow?
Only the swinging fly announces their return.

Just waiting.
Just waiting for that moment.
The reel reversed with frightening speed.
It would not stop until the horizon, Mr. Perry thought.

Season of the sun
The sun burns the skin.
The ground is so hot you could fry an egg on it.
If the water does not cool you down, you will soon get heat stroke.
It was sunny and then a sudden downpour comes. But summer rain is the rain of life.
Tough season to chase trout. On the flats, the ultimate game begins.
Autumn

Colorful autumn leaves.
And the mayflies are dancing again.
Rainbow trout, brightly red-banded, lurk behind a school of salmon in search of eggs.
Brown bears also appear on the riverbanks.
The prime season for swing fishing begins again.

The season of silence is coming.

There is little response from the fish anymore.
Still, I go to the river because
I want to feel the rhythm of spey casting.
Soon the water will freeze. Footprints on the white carpet.
The snow absorbs all sound. Outside is silent.
Only the sound of wood burning in the warm room.
